Are You Born Again?
Did you ever ask yourself if Am I Born Again?
But what do you mean Born Again?
Does born again means
“If you accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior then you will be born again”.
Or
“If you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and believe he died for your sins, you’ll be born again!”
First, Let us remember that the term “born again” is not in the Bible. Because the Greek word that use in John 3:3 is (gennatha anothen) and the Greek word “anothen” is Translated into “from above”. That is why “born again” is not the proper translation in John 3:3 and 3:7. The correct Translation is “Born from above”.
But what do we mean “Born from above”?
Jesus answered him, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above.” – John 3:3, NRSVCE
Jesus said to Nicodemus that to be able to enter the Kingdom of God is you need to be “born from above”.
But what “born from above” means?
The answer is in John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.
Notice in John 3:5 “born of water and Spirit”. That is clearly baptism and that is what the Catholic Church means when we born from above or born again.
Are Catholics Born Again? or Born From Above?
Yes, Absolutely, By the Virtue of Baptism we became “Born Again, Born From Above”.
IT IS VERY THAT “BORN FROM ABOVE IS BAPTISM AND IT IS NOT WHAT PROTESTANT THINK”.
