Full Question: Either Jesus Christ is the physical manifestation of God or you fall down the slippery slope into paganism.
Muslims and Jews and sadly even many who follow Sola Scriptura and still falsely call themselves Christians, have fallen into the same errors when it comes to the nature of God. God calls the church the pillar and foundation of truth, not ones personal interpretation of scripture. Paul tells us that spiritual things need to be spiritually examined and the sensual man percieveth not these things. Islam is a religion of the base sensual desires created by one man. A religion that appeals to mans lower base nature tainted by concupiscence, giving concupiscence acceptance. Being of the sensual it blocks the spiritual. A literalist interpretation of scripture does the same.
Paul tells us that the church teaches the angels the manifold wisdom of God. Again, not your personal interpretation of scripture but the one church established by God.
There is only one God. Therefore Christ is a manifestation of the one God in a way that nourishes our souls. Islam calls Christ a prophet. Islam is a contradiction. Christ was either God or He was a lunatic and the greatest magician who ever lived. He fulfilled over 300 prophecies that started thousands of years before His existence. To fulfill just 3 goes beyond the laws of probability. The Jews wanted to kill Him because He declared Himself to be God. When the Pharisee’s said, “ only God can forgive sins, He said pick up your bed and walk your sins are forgiven.” “ Your sins are forgiven go and sin no more”. You now can walk because your soul is not burdened with your past sins. When He was asked, “ Show us the Father”, He replied, do you not know that the Father and I are one?. When Thomas put His hands in the wounds of the risen Christ, he said, “ My Lord and my God!”. Christ did not correct Thomas and say you are committing blasphemy, He did not tell the Pharisees that He cannot forgive sins, at the birth of the church at Pentecost He gave this same power to His church. “ Receive the Holy Spirit whose sins you forgive are forgiven whose sins you bind are bound.” It was the risen Christ who came into the room even though the door was locked and gave man the Holy Spirit which gave man the power through Christ to forgive sins and consecrate the bread and wine through the Holy Spirit.
Paul says he sanctifies an oblation through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit that came through Christ.
In the Old Testament God tells us through the scriptures Hear of Israel our God is one. In the same Old Testament David in the Spirit tells us, God your God has anointed you.” Does the Old Testament contradict itself or is there a deeper spiritual understanding?
What does the word Christ mean? It means the anointed. How can one God anoint another if there is only one God?
It is impossible unless the one God is manifested in more than one person. The image of Christ as the anointed God is the image of the love of the unknowable Father who is beyond the comprehension of man.
God speaks in all three persons through the Old Testament scriptures.
19That say: Let him make haste, and let his work come quickly, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel come, that we may know it. Isaiah 5
Like the Jews, Islam also does not understand. Christ is the anointed God, Christ is the true Israel. The Jews only understood the land. The anointed God marries His church and through the sacraments we become Israel, flesh of His flesh.
I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you . Islam is a religion of the cursed.
“2Hear, O ye heavens, and give ear, O earth, for the Lord hath spoken. I have brought up children, and exalted them: but they have despised me. 3The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: BUT ISRAEL HATH NOT KNOWN ME, AND MY PEOPLE HATH NOT UNDERSTOOD.4Woe to the sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a wicked seed, ungracious children: they have forsaken the Lord, THEY HAVE BLASPHEMED THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL.” Isaiah 1:1-4
In the beginning was the word the word was God the word became flesh and dwelt among us, the word is Emmanuel, God with us. The word united with His bride.
I will espouse you to me in justice I will espouse you to me forever. He who has the bride is the bride groom.
But you are come to mount Sion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to the company of many thousands of angels, 23And to the church of the firstborn, who are written in the heavens, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of the just made perfect, 24And to Jesus the mediator of the new testament, and to the sprinkling of blood which speaketh better than that of Abel.
And I John saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
25Husbands, love your wives, as Christ also loved the church, and delivered himself up for it: 26That he might sanctify it, cleansing it by the laver of water in the word of life: 27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any; such thing; but that it should be holy, and without blemish.
5For let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men, and in habit found as a man. 8He humbled himself, becoming obedient unto death, even to the death of the cross. 9For which cause God also hath exalted him, and hath given him a name which is above all names: 10That in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those that are in heaven, on earth, and under the earth: 11And that every tongue should confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is in the glory of God the Father.
A (long suffering God )who in the Second person of the Trinity, established the truth of God by coming to man in the flesh.
And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them who do such things, and dost the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? 4Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness, and patience, and longsuffering? Knowest thou not, that the benignity of God leadeth thee to penance? 5But according to thy hardness and impenitent heart, thou treasurest up to thyself wrath, against the day of wrath, and revelation of the just judgment of God. 6Who will render to every man according to his works.
When Christ speaks as one obedient to the Father, He is speaking in the image of the groom united to the flesh of His bride, the church. He is our example of humility that we are called to live by.
Obey your prelates who have the rule over you for they watch over your souls.
Let the priests that rule well be worthy of double honor.
Without submission to Gods church there is no true humility acted on. Without humility, there is no wisdom.
6Howbeit we speak wisdom among the perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, neither of the princes of this world that come to nought; 7But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, a wisdom which is hidden, which God ordained before the world, unto our glory : 8Which none of the princes of this world knew; for if they had known it, they would never have crucified the Lord of glory.
1 Corinthians 2
In Revelation the God who is the Alpha and omega said He was dead and is now alive. Who is this God?
