THE SEVEN SACRAMENTS

Came from the word “Sacramentum” in Latin na nangangahulugang “a sign of sacred”.

BAPTISM or BAUTISMO/BINYAG

Whether we are baptized as infants or adults, Baptism is the Church’s way of celebrating and enacting the embrace of God. Ang Baptism ay sobrang mahalaga dahil sabi nga ng Panginoon, we cannot enter Heaven unless we will be baptized.

CONFIRMATION

Is a Catholic Sacrament of mature Christian commitment and a deepening of baptismal gift. It is most often associated with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. But yes again we have confirmation. Upang makumpirma ang iyong pananampalatayang katoliko mo. Now that you are mature and understand what is Baptism all about and what are your responsibilities being baptized.

EUCHARIST or COMMUNION

Is both a sacrifice and a meal. We believe in the real presence of Jesus, who died for our sins. (Juan 17:22) Kaya nga COMMUNION tawag na in other term UNITY o PAGKAKAISA.

RECONCILIATION or known as PENANCE

May tatlong elemento, conversion, confession and celebration. In it we find God’s unconditional forgiveness, as a result na tayo ay dapat na magpatawad din sa iba na nagkasala satin. (Mateo 6:14) Walang masama kung mangumpisal tayo sa pari because the Bible itself said that we should confess to one another. (Juan 20:19-23) At least twice a month tayo mangumpisal.

MARRIAGE

Is a public sign that one gives oneself totally to other person. (Ephesians 5:21-33) It is a loving union of husband and wife speaks of family values and also God’s value. is the Sacrament made by Jesus Christ to sanctify (make holy) the lawful union of a Christian man and a Christian woman. Isang beses lang magpakasal, ngunit pwedeng magpakasal ulit sa iba kapag namatay yung asawa.

HOLY ORDERS

Is a sacrament that the priest is being ordained vows to LEAD other Catholics by bringing them the sacraments especially the Eucharist, by proclaiming the Gospel and by providing other means to Holiness. Jesus told the apostles to be a Holy Priest, to preach His Words. To make sure that His work be continued, Jesus established the Catholic Priesthood, through the Sacrament of Holy Orders. (2 Corinthians 5:20) They were ordained by the Bishop byy praying for them and imposing hands on them. (Acts 13:3)

ANOINTING OF THE SICK

Formerly known as Last Rites or Extreme Unction is a ritual of healing appropriate not only for physical but also for mental and spiritual sickness. is the Sacrament which gives health and strength to the soul and sometimes to the body to persons who are in danger of death The Bible itself told us that if any man sick, let bring him or her to the Priest at e-anoint siya at e pray over. (James 5:14-15) Ano mang oras at pwede makatanggap nito.

Christ gave His Church only the essential parts of each Sacrament, but the Church has surrounded each Sacrament with beautiful ceremonies, which together with the administration of the Sacraments themselves and the Mass ceremonies, form what is called the Liturgy of the Church. It is really Jesus Christ who gives the Sacrament.
