In light of the ongoing impact of Super Typhoon Uwan across Metro Manila and surrounding regions, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila, through its Ministry with Persons in Street-Dwelling Situations (MWP-PSDS), is calling on schools, churches, and institutions to open their doors and provide temporary shelter to individuals currently living on the streets.
Facilities with safe spaces—including roofing, restrooms, and access to clean water—are especially encouraged to accommodate evacuees during this critical time. The ministry emphasizes the urgent need for compassion and action, stating:
“Our brothers and sisters on the streets are in dire need of help as Super Typhoon Uwan approaches.”
